Council
The meetings of Full Council involve all Councillors and it is the ultimate decision-making body of the authority. The Council approves recommendations from the Policy and Resources Committee and the Commissioning Board. The Council appoints a chairman each year, to chair meetings of the Full Council and represent the District at various events. There are four decision-making committees reporting to Full Council: Policy and Resources Committee, the Commissioning Board, Licensing Committee and Planning Committee. There are also two committees that make recommendations: the Overview and Scrutiny Committee and the Standards Committee.
