The Chairman welcomed representatives to the meeting and appropriate introductions were made.

5.

Ryedale Environment Forum

Peter Winter, Treasurer, Ryedale Environment Forum.

Minutes:

A presentation was given by Peter Winter, Treasurer, Ryedale Environment Group. Peter gave a brief explanation of the group and its function and the current projects the group are involved with.

 

A Representative asked if the group would collaborate with a Community Charter Group. Peter responded that yes the group have already worked with such groups and would invite any such groups to attend an Environment Group meeting.

Climate Change - Scrutiny Review

Jos Holmes, Senior Commissioning Officer, RDC.

Minutes:

A presentation was given by Jos Holmes, Senior Commissioning Officer, RDC. Following a Scrutiny Review, Jos outlined how RDC plan to contribute towards the reduction in global temperature rise. The full Scrutiny report is available on the RDC website.

 

 

7.

Community, 106 and Flood Grants

Minutes:

A presentation was given by Jos Holmes, Senior Commissioning Officer, RDC. Jos gave a brief description on the three available grant schemes. The Community Grant, Flood Grant and 106 Grants schemes are continuing this year. There are 3 rounds in the year. Further information on the grants, criteria, closing dates and application form are available on the RDC website.

 

A Representative asked when the 106 grants would be replaced with the new Community Infrastructure Levy CIL and if more information about the CIL could be given at a future Parish Liaison Meeting. Jos responded that the new Levy was in place now. The Clerk made a note for it to be a future agenda item.

 

 

8.

Volunteering North Yorkshire

Kay Morrison, Senior Development Officer, Community First Yorkshire.

Minutes:

A presentation was given by Kay Morrison and Lizzie Clapham, Community First Yorkshire. The initiative acts as a platform for organisations and volunteers to find each other and promote opportunities. The presentation included a tour of the website and how to register your organisation and how to register as a volunteer. Scarborough and Ryedale Carers Resource

Jodie Peckitt, Service Manager, Scarborough & Ryedale Carers Resource.

Minutes:

A presentation was given by Jodie Peckitt, Service Manager, Scarborough & Ryedale Carers Resource. Jodie gave an overview of the services provided and asked that community representatives raise awareness in their communities. Jodie would welcome any opportunities to come and speak to community groups and parishes.
