The role of this committee is to
scrutinise decisions made by the other committees of the Council
and the performance and effect of Council services and policies. It
is required to instigate and undertake reviews of existing policy,
the development of new policy and to monitor the implementation of
improvement plans arising from completed reviews.
The Committee also has the role of
Audit Committee and of the Standards Committee for the Council,
promoting and maintaining high standards of conduct by Councillors
and co-opted members and advising the Council generally on such
matters.
