Prevent

Kim Robertshaw and Sarah Wintringham, Housing, RDC

Minutes:

A presentation was given by Sarah Wintringham, Housing, RDC. Sarah gave a brief explanation of PREVENT and asked representatives to help raise awareness. On line courses are available at:

Community Infrastructure Levy

Jill Thompson, Planning and Development Manager, RDC

Minutes:

A presentation was given by Jill Thompson, Planning and Development Manager, RDC. Jill gave an overview of the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL). Jill explained how the money is calculated and the proportion that goes to the Parish/Town Council.

 

A representative asked for a definition of a ‘Self Build’.

Jill replied that she would email the Parishes and Town Clerks with the exact description given in the regulations.

 

A representative asked if Parishes/Towns could be notified when they had been allocated CIL.

Jill is going to request that the Development Management Team alert Parishes/Towns.

How Good is your place/Pickering

Margaret Wallace, Head of Customer Services, RDC.

Minutes:

A presentation was given by Margaret Wallace, Head of Customer Services, RDC. Margaret explained how the Place Standard toolkit worked. The toolkit is designed to help communities start a structured conversation about the assets of a place, as well as areas that could be improved. The toolkit is being piloted in Pickering on Wednesday 25th September 5pm at the Memorial Hall. An informative video about the toolkit was shown. Ex-Forces Support North Yorkshire

Colleen Allwood, Project Development Officer, Community First Yorkshire.

 

Minutes:

A presentation was given by Colleen Allwood, Project Development Officer, Community First Yorkshire. Colleen gave an overview of the project and asked represestnatives to raise awareness in their areas. The project would be taking new referrals up until Christmas 2019. So far the project had helped 800 direct veterans as well as the calls and advice given to carers, family and friends.
