Apologies for absence

Minutes:

Apologies were received from Cllr Cliff Lunn and Keith Cadman.

 

Trevor Watson, Officer, from Scarborough Borough Council was introduced to each member of the Committee.

Minutes of the meeting held on 30 June 2015

The minutes of the meeting of the North Yorkshire Building Control Partnership held on 30 June 2015 were presented, however, as the meeting was not quorate the minutes were not approved and signed by the Chairman as being a correct record.

 

Matters Arising

 

With reference to Minute No 60, the Head of Building Control reported that the Partnership had been unable to recruit to the post of Assistant Building Control Officer.  Recruitment of this post has been suspended pending a review.

 

Resolved

 

That the minutes of North Yorkshire Building Control Partnership meeting held on 30 June 2015 be presented for approval at the next meeting on Wednesday 24 February 2016.

Urgent Business

To receive notice of any urgent business which the Chairman considers should be dealt with at the meeting as a matter of urgency by virtue of Section 100B(4)(b) of the Local Government Act 1972.

Declarations of Interest

Members to indicate whether they will be declaring any interests under the Code of Conduct.

 

Members making a declaration of interest at a meeting of a Committee or Council are required to disclose the existence and nature of that interest.  This requirement is not discharged by merely declaring a personal interest without further explanation.

Performance report

The Head of Building Control presented a report (previously circulated) on the North Yorkshire Building Control Partnership's operational performance from 1 April 2015 to 30 September 2015.

 

A copy of the customer survey results for the period April to September were circulated to members prior to the meeting.

 

Cllr Brian Phillips undertook a presentation of long service awards.  Cllr Phillips congratulated Maria Podgorski and Tracey Roach for achieving over 25 years service and Mike Hetherington and Ian Russell for achieving over 40 years service.  Each member of staff was thanked for their hard work and presented with a certificate.

 

Resolved

 

That the report be noted.

 

That a 40 year service award be established with a certificate and cheque for £200.00.

 

6.

Monitoring report

The Head of Building Control presented a report (previously circulated) on the North Yorkshire Building Control Partnership's financial performance for the months of April 2015 to September 2015 inclusive.

 

Resolved

 

That the report be noted.

 

7.

Exempt information

That under Paragraph 3 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972 (as amended),that the public be excluded from the meeting for this item as there would be a likely disclosure of exempt information.

That Cllr Brian Phillips and Cllr Cliff Chatt form a sub group to take an overview of the proposed options.
